MACKAY SUGAR AND PORT DOUGLAS CARNIVALE PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCED

Port Douglas, March 17, 2014 –- One of Australia’s favourites festivals, Port Douglas Carnivale, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in style with Mackay Sugar signing on as one of its main sponsors for the forthcoming celebration.

Announcing the new sponsorship arrangement, Port Douglas Carnivale general manager Roy Weavers said he was delighted that Mackay Sugar had agreed to support the event.

“This is one of the most significant partnerships ever announced for the festival and reflects its growth. We are now finalising the details of our 20th year celebrations, which are sure to offer something for everyone,” he said.

Mackay Sugar communications manager Lorelei van Dalen said Mackay Sugar was extremely proud to be partnering with Carnivale given its importance to the regional economy and its national and international reputation.

“This partnership highlights our commitment to supporting the growth of the Douglas region and our desire to be an active participant in the cultural activities that celebrate and promote the region’s amazing assets,” she said.

The 2014 program will prove that Port Douglas is the place to be during Carnivale, not only for food lovers but also those seeking the sunshine of Tropical North Queensland.

Tickets are $99 and include a three course meal with matched wines at the stunning Rasa Restaurant & Bar at Niramaya Villas & Spa.
