Carnivale Presents a great new event to the Famous Family Beach Day – The Surf Side Session at the Port Douglas Surf Live Saving Club.
This free event will become a regular feature of the Carnivale experience and is a great FREE event for tourists and locals alike.
The inaugural Surf Side Session features the reggae sounds of FNQ local band – KOAHLITION.
Roots,Reggae Band Koahlition will be featuring at a free family event at the Port Douglas Surf Club on Sunday 25th of May from 3 till 6pm.
Koahlition play a variety of great Reggae covers by the legends of Reggae including Bob Marley,Jimmy Cliff,Toots Hibbert and Peter Tosh as well as some of their own great originals.
Koahlition also play Jamaican Ska which is great dance music so the band will be giving away a few cds for the best Ska dancers during the afternoon.
A recent highlight in 2018 was supporting the Melbourne Ska Orchestra at The Tanks in Cairns and the band is looking forward to spreading the infectious music to the crowd.
Reggae is ideal music for the tropics and the genre has been embraced by Pacific Island nations and Northern Australia.The multicultural band wth members from the Torres Strait ,Koahlition also offer a cultural aspect to their show.Lead and accompaniment guitarist Moses Warusam from Saibai Island adds a glimpse of his culture through several of his original compositions.
A wonderful tropical afternoon to come out and relax with the family,have a dance or sing along the songs.
With the Surfy bistro right next door you can kick back with a beverage and a bite and enjoy the show.
What could be better than some reggae by the beach?!
