Spiderbait Escapes To Port Douglas To Headline Carnivale 2021

Port Douglas Carnivale 2021 is on and Australian rock greats Spiderbait will headline this year’s event in Australia’s Paradise.

Douglas Shire Mayor Michael Kerr said Port Douglas was ready to welcome all with a fabulous range of Carnivale events from May 14 to 21.

Spiderbait, Aussie rock icons, will deliver their classic hits like Black Betty, Calypso, and Buy Me a Pony at Carnivale’s Tropic Rock Concert at Rex Smeal Park on Saturday, May 22.

The trio is among just a handful of artists that have enjoyed success across both mainstream and alternative rock music scenes. During a career spanning three decades, Spiderbait has topped Australia’s Aria charts and triple j’s Hottest 100, created gold, platinum and double platinum albums, and enjoyed sell out shows around the country.

“We are excited to have Spiderbait as the Carnivale headline act. Their live shows always have that extra something and certainly draw the crowds,” Cr Kerr said.

“Carnivale is a great time to be in Port Douglas, with so much going on it’s the perfect time to experience everything we have to offer in Australia’s own tropical paradise.”

Mayor Kerr said Carnivale 2021 offers an escape for lovers of all things food, fun and sun, from the Longest Lunch, opening Macrossan Street Parade, Tropic Rock Concert, Wonderland Spiegeltent, Family Beach Day
Out and more.

“We are also calling for sponsors and urge local businesses and others to invest in Carnivale 2021 to ensure it is the terrific event we have been waiting for,” he said.
