COVID 19 and Carnivale

We all want to have an amazing time this year and Port Douglas will be greatest place on the planet to relax and unwind and remember how good it is to be out and about. We do however want all of our wonderful visitors to stay healthy and happy while attend Carnivale, so we ask you, our guests to follow current requirements as outlined by Queensland Health.

Upcoming easing of restrictions – 14 April 2022

From 1am AEST Thursday 14 April 2022, the requirement to check-in and to be fully vaccinated in a range of venues and events will end.

Venues include pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants; theme parks, casinos and cinemas; weddings; showgrounds; and galleries, libraries, museums and stadiums.

This includes the all ticketed Carnivale events.

COVID 19 and Carnivale

When you must stay at home

You must stay at home and must not attend any Carnivale event if you:

(a) are required to self-isolate or quarantine due to:

being a confirmed case of COVID-19; or

having close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19; or

living in or having been in a high risk area within Australia; or

having returned from overseas.

(b) have COVID-19 symptoms, or

(c) have been tested for COVID-19 and are awaiting test results.

The symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose or loss of sense of smell.
