CARNIVALE CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF FESTIVAL FUN

Port Douglas, March 27, 2014 –- 20 years of Port Douglas Carnivale will be celebrated next Saturday night, April 5 at Rasa Restaurant & Bar, Niramaya Villas and Spa.

The gala dinner is an important part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, which will see some of Carnivale’s greatest supporters return for the special one-night event.

Entertainment on the night will include a special presentation by one of the original Carnivale founders Kerrie Jamieson as well as the unveiling of the new look, new format Miss Port Douglas Carnivale Ambassador 2014.

Live music will be provided by Omid Master, whose song – Everything Is OK – is the official 2014 Song of Carnivale after taking out the title in 2010.

Port Douglas Carnival manager Roy Weavers said the crowning of the Miss Port Douglas Carnivale Ambassador 2014 will be a much anticipated event that will take place on the night.

“Carnivale has had such a great history and the community has always embraced and rallied around this fantastic event.

“This night is to celebrate and recognise all the community has given to Carnivale and what this event actually gives back to the community.”

Tickets are $99 to the formal dinner (commencing at 6.30pm) and includes welcome drink, fabulous three-course menu with complimentary matched wines.

“Omid and his band will kick on after official proceedings, so we are hoping everyone stays on for a great laugh, dance and a drink,” Mr Weavers added.
