Tickets On Sale For Eskimo Joe

Tickets are now on sale for Australia’s favourite indie rock band Eskimo Joe, who will headline Port Douglas Carnivale’s 25th celebrations on Saturday, May 25.

The band, which has won multiple awards including several Arias, are coming to Port Douglas off the back of a successful 2018 21st birthday tour – playing across Australia.

Known for multiple hit songs including From the Sea, Black Fingernails, Red Wine, Sarah and New York, the alt rock band has amassed Australian sales of more than 750,000 on their six albums.

From 2001 to 2009 they were nominated for 29 Aria awards and won eight including single of the year for Black Fingernails, Red Wine in 2006. “We’re looking forward to soaking up some sun and playing some tunes,” ‘Eskimo’ Stu MacLeod said.

Now in its 25th year Port Douglas Carnivale celebrates the best of Tropical North Queensland, from the fruits of the sea and land to world class artists, musicians and performers.

The weekend long celebration will also include the popular Longest Lunch, Family Beach Day and to kick off the revelry, the always entertaining Macrossan Street Parade.

Douglas Shire Mayor Julia Leu said Port Douglas Carnivale had a lot to celebrate.

“Port Douglas Carnivale has grown into an iconic event, showcasing all that our vibrant and diverse region has to offer.

“We are especially excited to welcome Eskimo Joe, who are guaranteed to complement our energetic arts, music and food scene, which have all helped shape Carnivale into the event it is known for today.”
