The feasting festivities officially kick off on Friday 22 May with The Longest Lunch at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas serving up a showcase of local produce and award-winning cuisine along the resort’s iconic palm-lined entryway for the second year in a row.
The Resort’s Culinary Director Belinda Tuckwell said the Longest Lunch menu celebrated dining together with everyone’s favourite Tropical North Queensland ingredients.
“Queensland prawns, fresh reef fish, delicious pumpkins and heaps of seasonal produce will be served under the palms after a cocktail and caviar on arrival,” she said.
“It doesn’t get much better. We know this will be an afternoon to remember and look forward to welcoming visitors and locals alike.”
If you can’t wait until then, warm up your tastebuds on Friday 15 May with an Italian Feast Under the Stars at Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas.
Celebrating the region’s Italian cane farming heritage, the event includes a four-course feasting menu paired with fine Italian wines and live Italian opera performance.
The Sheraton’s Café del Mar Sunset Sessions return on Saturday 16 May with Sydney resident DJ Frankie Romano, pop-up food and drink bars and roaming acrobats entertaining while you groove on the Main Beach sand or cool off with sips in the stunning lagoon pool.
Hemingway’s Head Brewer Lee Drummond and Devil’s Thumb Head Distiller Gabriele Pegoraro host Brewed & Distilled: The Local Pour at Hemingway’s Brewery on Saturday 23 May at 2-5pm allowing you to sample locally crafted beers and spirits.
