GO TROPPO 2026 – Ancient Wonders
A Carnivale Exhibition by Port Douglas Artists
Go Troppo returns in 2026 as one of the most anticipated visual art events of
Carnivale, presenting a vibrant exhibition inspired by this year’s theme, Ancient
Wonders. Held in the spectacular setting of the iconic Sugar Wharf, the exhibition
showcases works by leading practising artists from across the region.
Presented by Port Douglas Artists, Go Troppo 2026 features a diverse collection of
painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, woven art and sculpture, responding
creatively to ideas of ancient knowledge, timeless landscapes, cultural memory
and enduring natural forms.
The exhibition officially opens on Monday 18 May at 5.30 pm, with a special
opening event offering visitors a sneak-peek viewing alongside celebratory
champagne and drinks.
Following the opening, Go Troppo 2026 will be open daily from 10.00 am to 5.00
pm, until Sunday 24 May. Locals and visitors alike are invited to experience this
dynamic showcase of contemporary art set against one of Far North Queensland’s
most recognisable waterfront landmarks.
